Thief-proofing in Felucca
by Garrison
So your tired of getting jacked! Ok everybody, after getting robbed for years from thieves
and making a thief myself and doing the robbing. =) I'm creating a little essay on ways
I've discovered to avoid getting robbed.
Step one to avoiding thieves is to get a large lockable chest! Put your items in a bag and
put the bag into the chest. Open the bag that is in the chest (as demonstrated in the picture
below) Keep the chest and the bag inside the chest open. Cast Magic Lock on the chest, and
there it is.

Note the bag is inside the chest and open before you cast magic lock
As long as you keep the bag and the chest open you have access to the items inside the bag. And thieves
can't get into the chest to get to your items. You can still access weapons from the bag in
the chest.
Now, having that chest and bag open can visually get in your way. In answer to this you can
drag the chest over the 2 bags (Main Bag and the Bag inside the Chest) and click each bag
and cover the open chest (as demonstrated in the picture below).

Arrange both bags, then place chest over the bags. Click the bags to make chest go to background
As far as avoiding thieves in general you must understand how they work. Whether they are a
disarm or regular thief, once a thief sees your items it's all over. He can target your
items and have them set to "Steal, last Target". So the best way to avoid them is keep
items in chest. Keep weapons unequipped until you need them. If you have already equipped
a weapon and the thieves have seen it, and you plan to remain in the area then keep the
weapon equipped (this only works against non-disarm thieves, disarm thieves can disarm you
and then steal).
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not put newbie items inside ANY bag, Newbie items (I.E. spellbooks,
runebooks, ethereal horses, etc etc.) in a bag are stealable, as thiefs can target and steal
the bag if it's light enough. Furthermore, if you die, the newbie item will most likely
remain in the bag, and therefore lootable (as opposed to it being in your main backpack, where
it will remain even if you die.
