Background Story:
The Beginning
This story begins with the first born son of a poor carpenter.
Growing up in poverty, this young boy watched his father go out
early every morning and come home late at night with barely
enough food to feed him self let alone a family of four. When
the boy was barely a teenager, he vowed he would make something
of his life and not let his fathers sacrifices be in vain. So,
at the young age of fifteen, he left his home and set out to
become the greatest man ever.
He then joined a band of warriors and learned to fight. Then
one day, they were ambushed by a group of outlaws. His mentor
was slain as was most of the band of his brotherin. At the end
of the bloody fight for survival, the dead were counted and
committed to the earth as their traditions dictated. Out of
twenty warriors, only three were still alive. They had slain
all of the outlaws with no mercy or compassion. The three who
were still alive said their good byes and went on their separate
ways never to see each other again.
This young warrior wandered the land fighting what ever evil force
came his way. He vowed he would not stop until the evil that sent
his brotherin to their graves was dead. He was determined to defend
the weak and protect all life no matter the cost.
Then one cold dark night, he found himself staring down one of the
darkest evils. In front of him stood a towering eight foot tall lich
lord with a woman’s head in his cold undead hands. An overwhelming
rage came over the young warrior as he rushed the evil creature. A
bloody and painful battle occurred that lasted what felt like a life
time. When the battle was finally over, the young warrior found himself
lying in a river of his own blood next to a vanquished undead giant.
As he felt his vary essence starting to slip away, he looked back on
his life with joy at what he has accomplished, at the many evils he
had vanquished, and the lost friends that had fallen for the noble
quest for good, then at that moment he knew he could die with pride
and honor in the way he has lived his life.
A Knighthood
Then to his surprise, he awoke on a hospital bed with a strange man
standing over him. This man was the head of a noble order that
devoted their very being to what the young man spent his life
trying to accomplish. This stranger had found him lying next
to a vanquished undead giant and carried him to the hospital
for care. As soon as he was strong enough to make the journey,
he joined his new family in a small keep to start his training.
To his joyous surprise, he was reunited with his two younger
brothers and his cousin he had left back home.
After a lot of hard work and training, he took an oath and was knighted.
His job as a knight was to wander the land and protect all those
in need as well as his new master. He did this for a long time with
pride and honor.
Then one painful day, the order in which he pledged his life fell
to ashes when the noble lord was poisoned and died. The young grief
stricken knight buried his fallen mentor and said good bye once more
to his family and set out to wonder the land again.
The Life Of A Kingdom
Sometime later, this knight decided to make a home of his own when
he met another warrior like himself. This warrior identified himself
as Dakkon, a virtuous fighter with the same principles as his own.
They decided to start a kingdom of their own. The knight and his new
friend then moved into a small stone tower. They gathered a small
group of followers and the knight was crowned king by all his people.
Dakkon then went on a quest to prove his loyalty and compassion to
the people of the land. On his return, he swore allegiance to the
crown as well as the cause for the good of the land. He was knighted
as first knight, which made him the leader of all knights to come.
Then one day while leading a raid on the juka armies, this young king
met a beautiful princess named lily. Lily came from an order of dragon
tamers that fell to the hands of the Jukas. Understanding her pain,
he invited her to join his kingdom and seek revenge for her people
as well as all others that have fallen to evil. She agreed and joined
the kingdom. As the days turned to weeks and the weeks turned to months,
they finally finished killing the jukas and getting revenge for her
fallen people.
One day, while exploring a new land, the young king came across the
opening of a new spectacular town. He was greeted by a wise and noble
duke. The duke showed the young king around his great town. The duke
explained this town was called Darkmoor and told the young king of
its purpose in helping all people in need. The king was astonished
at a whole city designed for the specific task of helping complete
strangers with no expectation of reward. The young king felt and
overwhelming joy and excitement, he then offered to help in any
way he could.
Many months down the road the king and princess had gotten very
close and decided to get married. The young king decided to
approach Darkmoor with this task. They were married in the Temple
of Compassion in Darkmoor for the whole town to see.
Then one dark night, while on patrol, dakkon, the young king,
the young queen, and the royal guard found a small settlement.
This settlement was set ablaze by an unknown evil that came out
of the dark and returned there when they were done. The group
rushed into the blaze looking for survivors. In a pile of
burring rubble, the young queen found a young boy no older then
ten years old. This boy was the sole survivor of this settlement.
They looked around for others but none were found and the ground
was covered in blood and bodies. When the boy awoke, he identified
himself as Bojunkins, the son of the settlement blacksmith. He
never remembered what had happened to the settlement.
When Bo reached the age of thirteen, the king and queen adopted
him as their own and declared him to be the prince. Bo wanted to
learn the art of magery and animal lore, so he was sent to a
close childhood friend of the king to be schooled in both
complicated arts.
Many seasons later, a war was declared on the orcs. The king,
queen, and the warriors of the kingdom, went to vanquish their
foes. The war waged on for months and many brave men had fallen.
The king’s army vanquished the orcish horde and took their dead
home to be buried with honor. During the last battle, the queen
was injured by an orc arrow and fell ill. She was taken to
empathy Abby in yew for better medical care.
On the way back from the Abby, the king and Sir Dakkon along
with the royal guard ran into small group of warriors led by
Vesuvan Spirit (a noble paladin), Shadow (a warrior mage), and
Aeowyn (a warrior mage). They wished to join the great kingdom
in hopes to vanquish evil and defend the weak. They were welcomed
with open arms.
The new warriors changed the changed the small kingdom for the
best and helped add countless others. They brought an honor and
commitment that to this day hasn’t been matched.
Then one day, while fighting ettins and earth elementals in despise,
they received two new great warriors. A mage named Liche (how ironic)
and a great swordsman named Aries.
A few months later, the king learned his beloved wife fell into
a coma and had a low chance of recovery. After the news of the queen,
the small kingdom fell under attack by assassins. Hearing the news
of the kingdoms possible demise, an unlikely warrior came out of
the dark to help. A rogue necromancer named Ripper joined the ranks
of the kingdom to help defeat the assassins.
This war with terror waged on for months and started taking its toll.
Many great warriors fell to the hands of these chaotic silent attackers.
Knowing the kingdom was slowly meeting demise, the king dispatched his
knights and warriors to all corners of the land. Their instructions
were to start over and wait till they here from the king. As Aries left,
he and him group were ambushed and killed by an unknown villain.
After that, the king decided it was too dangerous for his warriors
to return and released them from their vows. Their instructions were
to start over some where else with new masters and kingdoms. The king
knew his kingdom was finished and decided to spend his time with his
wife and son.
A New Beginning
When he got to the Abby, he found out his son disappeared and his
wife had died shortly after. The king broke down and started to
cry at the loss of his family, friends, and kingdom. He was
distraught and thought of joining his wife in the next life.
Just then he saw an illuminating light shining from inside a room.
He slowly returned to his feet and walked toward the bright warm
light. As he peered threw the doorway he saw an ankh. At that moment
he remembered the sacrifices of his father and felt the strength of
the ankh. He decided to give his mission in life another chance.
He packed up his needed items and went to the temple where he got
married. He then asked the duke that he had made friends with if he
may serve Darkmoor and the great people of Sonoma as a humble cleric.
At that moment the son of a poor carpenter had found his place in the
world and a purpose to match his hearts greatest desire; to serve as
a cleric in the Temple of Compassion.
The Family Secret
One day while outfitting a group of youngings for armor they needed,
he ran into a woman he knew when he was a young child. The cleric
decided to ask how he knew her, and the story started coming together.
She was adopted by the cleric’s family before he was born and when he
was still young,
She left the family to seek a life of adventure. He enbraced his sister
and they decided to never let themselves lose touch again. They spent
many hours helping youngings and healing wounded warriors.
The Rebirth And Life Of An Old Kingdom
After some time as a devoted cleric, a familiar face had reappeared
into his life. This old friend of the cleric was named aeowyn, who
had restarted the fallen kingdom and raised an army to back it up.
He asked the cleric to return and take his place on the thrown as
king again. After months of talking, the cleric decided to do so.
He rejoined many of his comrades in the kingdom. As soon as the
kingdom was rebuilt, other armies and kingdoms joined the king
forming not one kingdom but eight in one. They all went out and
waged war on all evil that showed there faces in all Sonoma.
The king’s son returned and took his place next to his father
and aunt.
After the kingdom started growing again, the king’s sister fell
in love with one of the generals. They were married in the kingdom
throne room. Shortly after their marriage, the general went off on
a long campaign to fight the orc invasion. Needless to say their
marriage didn’t last. The small kingdom suffered heavy losses
when the war grew and all the kingdom went to the general’s aid.
Along with the loss of many warriors including the royal guard,
the king had to retreat and regroup. The kingdom never recovered
from it and started to fall once more. The war had beaten the
kingdom down and it started to break apart when Aeowyn went
missing along with his army and the king’s son. Aku was promoted
to first knight when liche died in battle.
Shortly after the king’s son died, the kingdom started to fall
with great speed and sadness. The king decided to let the kingdom
finally go. He told all those who were left to take their share
of the treasury and try to live a long and health life.
Return To Service
The king returned to the temple and was welcomed back with open arms.
He soon met his new lord and the new name and uniform. He put on
the white robe and red cloak with pride and decided he would never
leave the newly named Temple of Virtues again.
After his return, he found out his beloved sister and his old friend
Ves were to be wed. They eloped to the temple to be married. The
cleric couldn’t have been happier and gave them the best private
wedding he could. The thought that his sister found her soul mate
warmed his heart.
The cleric was given the honor of commanding all the clerics in the
temple. He did not take this honor lightly and decided never to let
the temple down and do his job to the best of his ability.
